2018 Subaru WRX STI

A modern performance standout at the 2025 Pagoda Hillclimb, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI attacked Duryea Drive with rally-bred confidence and turbocharged aggression. With its aggressive stance, hood scoop, and signature wing, the STI looked right at home on the legendary 1.35-mile uphill course.

Powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four producing 305 horsepower, and backed by Subaru’s advanced Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), the STI carved through the hill’s nine technical turns with surgical precision. Its grip and balance on corner exits made it a clear threat in its class.

While not the most exotic car in the lineup, the WRX STI’s combination of power, control, and all-weather traction made it one of the most consistent and thrilling machines on the hill. The deep exhaust note and turbo whistle echoed through the trees, a reminder that rally roots still shine on tarmac.
